A lock of wool is held with one hand (either washed or raw) on a protected surface, often a piece of leather on your lap. The flick card hits the lock rapidly, with a motion, which drags its teeth through the lock, one or more times until it is opened to the spinner's satisfaction. The lock is reversed and the process repeated. You can use this process in place of teasing your wool apart ready for carding or jump straight to the spinning for worsted wool. The flick carder is also ideal for cleaning your Drum Carder and for tackling small amounts of fibre for feltmaking.

 

Light weight with comfortable lathed handle. This is a really handy time-saving inexpensive tool.
