Mulberry silk is produced from silk worms bred in captivity. It’s excellent quality is cultivated under the most strict instructions, often the quality is ‘graded’ for textile industry purposes.
Bombyx mori moth larvae (‘worms’) are fed on a diet of Mulberry leaves to produce this particular silk.
Silk does not felt on its own but can be added to your felt projects for effect and to add texture. This finger thin roving is also Ideal for Spinning, weaving all kinds of Fabric and Fibre work... it's high shine is ideal for adding into papermaking too!
