Cuddly Baby Camel Tops!

This light brown baby camel roving has been de-haired to remove the harsh hairs and leave only the soft and cuddly down and it spins beautifully.

 

Camel down is the soft warm inner down of a camel and has a fibre structure similar to cashmere. The down is usually 1-3 inches long with a micron count of about 15-22 microns. Camel down does not felt easily. I have used this for felting and find that it doesn't felt on it's own very well, but it does make a lovely highlight texture to both wet and dry pieces.
