Welsh Mountain wool, is pure new wool that ;has a red kempy character. It has an unexpectedly soft handle regardless of it's hairy appearance, with an occasional more coarse top hair.

The fibres are also easily dyed with both natural and chemical dyes. The finer hairs will taken on a paler shade of each dye, so the finished effect is perfect for spinning, weaving and knitting into woven tweeds, rugs and hardwearing, warming knitwear. It is also surprisingly good for feltmaking too!
