The Corriedale sheep have a lovely soft, pure white fleece with a great handle for the spinner and produces a very nice soft yarn. This wool is also very suited to wet and dry needle felting, because it is not quite so 'super' soft as Merino and it felts up easily. The Correidale sheep has been bred over time from a combination of Lincoln and English Leicester rams on Merino ewes, so the wool has a wonderful quality to it and a good lustre. It also takes to chemical and hand dying well.
